Short description: This is a moderated and curated group featuring a unique style of street photography. While a lot of "street photography" focuses on people and their momentary interactions, the focus of this group is capturing the feeling and mood of a place. While this can certainly include people interacting with and in a place, people should not be the only focus, emphasis should be given to the place. Artistic photos with documentary value are also encouraged. Please submit artistic photos with attention to composition, feeling, or documentary value. Snapshots, "in-your-face street shots", and street portraits that don't show much about the place might be rejected. Please look at the current pool to get a feel for this group's theme. Photos from around the world are welcomed and highly encouraged. Details: 1.) All submissions should have some artistic merit with attention given to subject, composition, and basic photographic/artistic principles. 2.) Submissions should artistically capture the mood and feeling of a place. Additionally artistic photos of documentary value are also encouraged. 3.) Color, black and white, film, and digital are accepted with a little bias towards film. Heavily digitally edited images such as HDR might not be accepted. Alternative film techniques (cross-processing, pinhole, etc.) are fine. 4.) Discussion of related topics is highly encouraged. Please perform a quick search of existing topics before starting a new topic thread. 5.) This group currently accepts photos flagged as 'safe', however moderate amounts of nudity in an artistic or documentary context is acceptable to the moderators. 6.) Submissions should be publicly viewable so that the admin/mods can see a larger-than-thumbnail size when reviewing the submission queue.
