In the summer holidays I visited the bunkermuseum in Hanstholm with my family.
The museum is built around one of the largest German bunkers on the Danish west coast from the 2nd World War. It boasted four 38 cm guns of the same type that was used on the battleship Bismarck.
The original guns are not there anymore but plenty of concrete structures in the landscape bear witness of the strategic importance of this area during the war.
The German forces feared an Allied invasion on the Danish shores. Fortunately this never happened.
