Today is a bit of a sad day. This is Blackie, a Border collie that my husband and I rescued off of the streets. We did not have the room to keep her at the time. My parents were looking for a dog, and kindly took her in to their home. Though this was nothing like what they were looking for. She quickly became the love of the family. Today she was put to sleep because she had bone cancer that spread quickly to her lymph. My heart hurts a great deal. But I know she is much better off and they did the right thing.
