We climbed to the top of Mt. Teneriffe, taking the trail heading straight up the mountain from near Kamikaze Falls. This trail is unrelentingly steep. Snow and ice started a few hundred feet from the top. While on top, Ranier played peek a boo with the clouds. In spite of some clouds, the views were lovely. The snow and ice was very slippery and even with microspikes, climbing down was a challenge. By the time we got to the bottom my knees were mush. In spite of that, I much prefer this trail to the seemingly never ending Teneriffe Road Trail. Someone has done quite a bit of work on this trail since we here in the summer.
