Land Rover radiator Badge.
The first land Rover was designed in 1948 by Maurice Wilkes chief designer for Rover on his farm at Newborough, on the island of Anglesey, Wales.
A 4x4 of lightweight construction by using an alloy of Aluminium and Magnesium called Birmabright. Post war steel was in limited supply but there was a plentiful supply of post war aircraft Aluminium. Designed to be easy for the military to field service the go anywhere nature of the vehicle was not only popular with the Armed Forces of the UK and Overseas military, into was also immensely popular with hill farmers and throughout the British Commonwealth
