Lower Columbia College students, faculty and staff went barefoot on the LCC campus on April 5, 2011 and April 10, 2012 in honor of 'One Day Without Shoes,' a global campaign (created by Toms Shoes) designed to raise awareness of the impact a simple pair of shoes can bring to a child's life.
“Participation in the event highlights the fact that globally children go without shoes, and having shoes can lead to healthier children, healthier children can focus and learn at school and be educated.
The LCC community knows – education matters and that healthy, educated children have a better chance of improving the future of our entire community.”
~ Lisa Matye Edwards, VP, Student Success
