Situated at Arbury Hall, Arbury Nuneaton, Warwickshire
Arbury Hall - is a Grade 1 listed country house in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. Set in 300 acres of parkland, it is the ancestral home of the Newdigate family. Later Fitzroy-Newdigate. Built on the former site of a monastery in a mixture of Tudor and 18th century Gothic styles.
The 19th century author George Eliot (Mary Anne Evans) was born on one of the Estate farms in 1819 the daughter of the Estates land agent. Books include Adam Bede, The Mill on the Floss, Silas Marner and Middlemarch
More recently the film Angels and Insects (1995) was shot entirely in the Estate grounds. Starring Mark Rylance, Patsy Kensit and Kristin Scott-Thomas, from the novella Morpho Eugenia by A.S.Byatt
