Demolition is to take place in the coming months and below is an extract taken from the local press:
MORE new homes are to be built and dilapidated flats bulldozed as part of the £100 million regeneration of Castlefields in Runcorn.A £3 million grant will fund the demolition of 209 deck access flats in Woodland Walk, King Arthur’s Walk and Merlin Close.
In addition to 36 homes already approved, 57 additional new homes will be constructed.
These will be a mix of shared ownership and affordable rent.
Clr Phil Harris, board member for housing strategy, said:” Providing Halton residents with access to good quality and affordable homes remains a priority for the council.
“By working with Liverpool Housing Trust and Homes and Communities Agency, we have secured a further £3 million of funding to help make this aspiration a reality.
An £11 million village square, with a new community centre, cafe, library, health centre, homes and shops is due to open next year.
